ANET 2026

The ANET conference will return to Brisbane in March 2026 and is an opportunity to look back over the past 20 years, reflect on the progress we have made and consider important areas of focus and effort for the next 20 years. ANET 2026 will address the following:

  • Projects, landscapes and regions – planning for and delivering ecological outcomes across multiple spatial scales

  • Advancing technological solutions – opportunities, challenges and risks

  • Implementing best practice – identifying, developing and promoting

  • Communication and behaviour-change – translating research and practice into good outcomes across industry, government and society

With participants from Australia, New Zealand, and around the world, ANET 2026 will bring together global best practice and emerging solutions to ensure our transport and linear infrastructure networks are as ecologically sensitive as possible.

We welcome all who are involved in the planning, design, construction, operation, and regulation of all modes of transport and linear infrastructure – including road, rail, transmission lines, pipelines, etc to attend, present and participate in ANET 2026. ANET will include a range of plenary and technical presentations, case studies, posters, workshops, social networking events and field trips to inspect innovative solutions in South East Queensland.

The 2026 Australasian Network for Ecology and Transportation (ANET) Conference will be held in the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 23-25 March 2026. ANET is the premier event for ecologists, transport planners, regulators, construction and operation professionals, and the local community to engage on the interactions between transportation and ecology. The conference will include two days of technical presentations, posters, panels, workshops and trade displays, a one-day field trip and a networking social event.

Abstract submission guidelines

  • The contact details of the primary speaker

  • Preferred sub-theme

  • Abstract title (maximum 120 characters)

  • Abstract to be no more than 300 words (excluding names, titles and affiliations)

  • The use of abbreviations and acronyms should be kept to a minimum

  • 3 key takeaways/learnings delegates will gain from this presentation

  • Biographies must be no more than 300 words

  • Presenter(s) must provide a photo

Abstracts and biographies may undergo editing before being published in conference materials and on the EIANZ website.
